Back to back wins for Stanathol

Feb 17, 2015

Stanathol made the step from maiden to class one in good style on Sunday, with a win at the Sunshine Coast over 1000m.

Taking advantage of barrier one, jockey Jim Byrne provided Stanathol with a lovely front running ride and the gelding dug deep in the straight to fight off the fast finishing Scone visitor, Solitaire Babe.

Trainer Steven O'Dea had originally accepted for two race meetings with the four year old, but elected to run him at the Sunshine Coast as he thought he would be suited from the inside draw with the rail out 10m.

Stanathol has now had two starts for two wins under O'Dea and has collected just over $20,000 for connections since joining the stable late last year.
