Classy galloper Sir Moments showed he is worthy of a taking his place in the Group 2 Villiers in Sydney next month, with an impressive win at the Gold Coast over the weekend.

Taking on a quality field in the Saturday’s Open Handicap, the four year old was given a lovely run in the race under jockey Tim Bell.  Despite carrying 59kg’s for the first time in his short career, Sir Moments had them covered at the top of the straight and pulled away to score easily by a length over runner up Aldini, who had a 8kg pull in the weights.

The win was his sixth from only twelve starts and took his earnings to over half a million dollars.  Trainer Steven O’Dea confirmed that the Choisir gelding will now head south, where he will line up in the Festival Stakes at Rosehill in a fortnight, before racing in the Villiers at Randwick two weeks later.
