Beatniks brings up a double for O'Dea

Oct 07, 2014

Talented mare Beatniks bought up a double for the O'Dea stable at the Sunshine Coast last Sunday by taking out the Class 2 Handicap over 1000m.

Starting a short priced favourite, Beatniks settled well back in the run and in the straight she had had a wall of horses in front of her and plenty of ground to make up. Jockey Tim Bell weaved a path through the field and Beatniks proved much too good for the rest of the field and pulled away to score by half a length.

It was only the second win for four year old, who has raced in Metropolitan company for most of her short career.  Last preparation she finished less than two lengths away in the Listed Princess Stakes.  She has now had seven starts for two wins and three placings and looks to have a very bright future ahead of her.
