A flying start for Beau Jet

Oct 03, 2014

Beau Jet kicked off his career to a perfect start last weekend, with an impressive win in the QTIS three year old Maiden Plate for Colts and Geldings at the Sunshine Coast.

Prior to his debut, the three year old had not had an official trial but had shown trainer Steven O'Dea enough at home to suggest he was ready to head to the races.  O'Dea was right, despite being a bit raw in the run Beau Jet proved much too good for the rest of the field and kicked away to score easily by just under two lengths.

A son of Queensland sire Jet Spur, Beau Jet was eligble for the QTIS bonus and collected $15,000 for his debut victory.  A beautifully bred gelding, he is from the Centaine mare Our Heather, making him a half brother to last year's Stradbroke winner Linton.
