Want For Nothing breaks through

Jul 21, 2014

Consistent mare Want For Nothing broke through for her Maiden win on Friday, taking out the Sirromet Maiden Handicap over 1500m at Ipswich.

Having her fifteenth race start , Want For Nothing had been in great from leading into Friday's race, finishing in the placings three of her previous four starts.

Despite starting from barrier nine in the field of eleven, jockey Ric McMahon had her perfectly positioned in the run, sitting fifth, just off the speed and when he asked her to go she proved too strong and pulled away to score easily by one and a half lengths.

Raced by Proven Thoroughbreds, Want For Nothing provided them with their twenty third winner for the year and continued their great run with the O'Dea stable.
