Sleep Tight gets her first win on the board
Jul 06, 2014
Sleep Tight recorded her first victory on Saturday, with a gutsy win in the QTIS two year old Maiden Plate over 1200m at the Gold Coast.
Ridden by Priscilla Schmidt, Sleep Tight settled back in the run and produced a very strong finish in the straight to run down the short priced favourite Italian Storm by a long neck. The pair gapped the remainder of the field with the third place getter a further six lengths away.
The Real Saga filly was having just her third start and was only narrowly beaten in her previous start over the same distance at Eagle Farm two weeks ago. Trainer Steven O'Dea was very impressed with the win and is now looking to step her up over further.
