Talented mare Empress Me recorded her fifth career victory last Wednesday by taking out the Sirromet Benchmark 80 Handicap at Doomben.

Given a lovely ride by apprentice Priscilla Schmidt, the Jet Spur mare settled back in the field and as they didn't go quick in front Schmidt made sure she kept in touch and didn't drift too far back.  She peeled out in the straight and Empress Me was too strong, pulling away to score by half a length.

The win took her earnings to over $128,000 and kept up her good strike rate, as she has now won five from only twenty starts.
