It's an O'Dea quinella at Eagle Farm
Jan 02, 2014
Yesterday’s Bollinger QTIS three year old Maiden at Eagle Farm turned into a two horse race between stable mates over the last furlong with Fairytale Belle fighting back to claim a narrow victory over Beatniks.
The O’Dea pair drew side by side and Fairytale Belle settled in a midfield position and travelled well through out. On the turn she pulled out to make her run and Beatniks followed. Beatniks looked to have her measure but Fairytale Belle kicked backed strongly to score by a nose, the pair cleared away from the rest of the field with third place getter Harmonized Feeling a further five lengths away.
It was the third race start for Fairytale Belle, a daughter of Real Saga, and the win took her earnings to just over $22,000. O’Dea will now look to step the filly up to Saturday metropolitan company over her next two starts.
