Pretty Face wins again

Nov 21, 2013

Ultra consistent mare Pretty Face notched up her third win this preparation with a narrow victory in the Sky Racing TV Fillies and Mares Benchmark 75 Handicap at Doomben yesterday.

Aided by a lovely ride from jockey Tim Bell, the four year old settled well just off the speed and Bell made the most of the inside draw keeping her tucked away and giving her every possible chance to run the 1350m right out.

He pulled her to the outside in the straight and she lunged on the line to nose out Strutter with race favourite Platinum Mint a neck away in third.

When resuming this time in Pretty Face, a daughter of Henny Hughes, was still a Maiden but has quickly risen through the grades by winning three of her last four starts.

Trainer Steven O'Dea is delighted with how she has progressed this time in "She has just continued to improve every time.  After each run she just looks better and is getting stronger" he stated.

O'Dea will now give her a short three week break to freshen her up and looks forward to having her back racing at the end of January when she'll take the next step up to Saturday Metropolitan class.

Pretty Face has now recorded three wins and seven placings from only thirteen race starts and is yet to finish out of the prize money.
