Pointe dances to victory at Eagle Farm

Aug 22, 2012

Grand mare Pointe Dancer scored yet another city win with her brave effort to claim the Young Tradies Dash (1000m) at Eagle Farm.

Pointe Dancer has proven herself to be a terrific money-spinner for connections since joining the Steven O’Dea stable after starting her career in Victoria.

Pointe Dancer showed her enjoyment of the Eagle Farm 1000-metre course to post her third win on the track.

The daughter of Noverre jumped quickly from an inside gate to be among the leaders soon after the start before travelling kindly midrace for jockey Maija Vance.

Pointe Dancer railed beautifully around the home turn before beating off her opposition with a neat turn of foot at the 250 metres.

Point Dancer kept going strongly to the line under Vance’s riding to score by 2-1/4 lengths, posting her fourth win from her 17 starts for O’Dea. Pointe Dancer has also recorded six minor placings for the stable.

The mare’s latest success was Steven O’Dea’s third for the 2012/13 season.
